Training and Exchange Firefighters : 5 - 10 September 2014 part 2
Campus Vesta has nearly unlimited possibilities to simulate big accidents. Houses, appartments, highway, aircraft, trains, busses, petrochemical installations.. are there. It is located at an abondoned British military camp. Before noon the team made a walk around this site with the trainers : Ben and Bart. Only a part of the site was visited... too big.

In the afternoon there was a training with real fire, the use of waterhoses, fire extinguishers, foam. BIG was also attending to make a promotion film on dangerous goods: a forklift damaged a few topdrums with acetic acid and caustic soda and got in fire. The Romanian team were the actors to fight the heavy fire and they did well.

In the evening there was a BBQ and the tasting of different Belgian beers. At this occasion they met also some Romanian participants of the Special Olympics. One of them: Sebi, was sure he will become a firefighter in Cluj.

The Belgian instructors were happy to meet such an enthusiastic team. It was a nice experience for both partners.
